Mr. Alexander Junior Spurlock, age 70 of Crandall, Georgia, departed this life Monday June 5, 2017 at the local hospital. He was born August 18, 1946 in Flatlick, Kentucky, a son of the late Alexander and Martha Evelyn Spurlock. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ernie Hobbs, Donald Hobbs and Mitchell Hobbs and sisters, Martha Evelyn Middleton and Catherine Hobbs

Junior loved fishing, hunting and motorcycles. He worked many years in the coalmines and Five Star Finishing.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Annie Mae Ingle Spurlock of the residence; sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Janice Spurlock, Roger Spurlock and Beverly Haynes, Herbert and Amy Spurlock, Tommy and Annie Spurlock; daughters, Melissa Dykes, Kathy Spurlock, Tonya Spurlock all of Chatsworth, GA; brothers, John Cecil "Jay" Hobbs of Harlan, KY, and Frankie Laws of Hillsboro, OH; sisters, Cheryl Varney, Sandy Middleton both of New Tazewell, TN, Lisa Evans of St. Martin, OH, and Oceana Hobbs of Blanchester, OH; grandchildren, Elizabeth Roberts, David Rampley, Donovan Rampley, Ethan Rampley, Dustin Hively, Crystal Crofford, Roger Dykes, Melinda Dykes, Jessica Kidwell, Steven Dykes, Samantha Weaver, Kinsley Davis, Destiny Spurlock, Dianna Spurlock, Laci Spurlock, Justin Spurlock, Cheyanne Spurlock, Summer Spurlock, Jada Paine, Herbert Alexander Spurlock, Jr., Tosha Spurlock, Shonna Spurlock, Bobby Spurlock and Connor Lee Spurlock; sixteen great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Alexander Junior Spurlock will be held Thursday June 8, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Darey Kittle and Reverend Herman Ledbetter officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Murray Memorial Gardens with Tommy Spurlock, Donovan Rampley, Ethan Rampley, Steven Dykes and Benny Clayton serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and after 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
