Mr. Albert Ford Edwards, age 85, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Gordon Health and Rehabilitation in Calhoun.

Born October 4, 1940, in Plainville, Gordon County, Georgia, Albert was a son of the late James Burton and Dessie Brown Edwards. He was also preceded in death by his devoted wife, Barbara Davis Edwards; brothers, James Edwards and Elijah Edwards; and a brother-in-law, Hubert "Pete" Holloway.

Albert was of the Baptist faith and a man who loved God's Word, finding strength and direction in Scripture throughout his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. A dedicated Mason, he was a member and past Worshipful Master of Sugar Valley Masonic Lodge No. 733, cherishing the fellowship he enjoyed with his Masonic brothers.

Industrious and faithful to his work, Albert retired from Republic Services as a convenient site operator—yet he didn't hang up his hat until 2024, at the age of 84. His steadfast work ethic, gentle humor, and abiding love for his family were the hallmarks of a life well lived.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Aimee and Rex Lowe of Calhoun, GA; grandson, Jason and Victoria Henson; great-grandchildren, Zoey Grace Henson and Jaxon Craig Henson, all of Adairsville, GA; brother, Harry Edwards of Chatsworth, GA; sisters, Sue Holloway and Ann Bailey, both of Calhoun, GA; sisters-in-law, Robbie Jean Edwards of Calhoun, GA, and Martha Lynn Edwards of Dalton, GA; special friends, Melba Sewell of Calhoun, GA, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sarah Ann and Dan Davis of Dalton, GA, several nieces, nephews, and many friends who will dearly miss him.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Albert Ford Edwards will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Ponders Calhoun Chapel with Brandon Champion officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife at Haven of Rest Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Scott Edwards, Darren Edwards, Michael Edwards, Kevin Talley, Jason Henson, and Randy McElrath. Honorary pallbearers will be Hughdon Tate, Winston Black and Sugar Valley Masonic Lodge members. Graveside honors will be provided by the Forty-Third Tri-County Masonic Memorial Team.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Calhoun Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, and after 12:00 p.m. (noon) Saturday until the service hour.
