Mrs. Agnes Sue Long, age 74, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday evening, February 18, 2014 at her residence. She was born February 10, 1940 in Rockwood, TN, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Macie Pelfrey Harwood. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Dean Long, daughter, Pamela Jo Long.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Becky Cochran, Kathy Oxford, Vickie and Todd Brown all of Dalton, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Cathy Harwood of Dalton, GA, John and Sue Harwood of Nashville, TN, Tommy and Nancy Harwood of Rockwood, TN; grandchildren, Krista and Stanley Dyer, David and Miranda Oxford, Scott and Crystal Brown, Pamela Jo Cochran, Jeremy Oxford, Felicia and Chris Bradford, Baylee Brown; eleven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Agnes Sue Long will be held Friday, February 21, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Billy Willis and Reverend Tim Swinney officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Bucky Fritts, Mike Fritts, Eric Harwood, Thomas Harwood, Guy Jackson, Jimmy Ray and Donnell McMichael serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday February 20, 2014.
