Mrs. Vadie Bowman
Mrs. Vadie Idosha Bowman, age 89, departed this life Thursday, February 18, 2010. Vadie was born on June 14, 1920 in Murray County. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Lee Bowman; parents; Andrew and Emma Thomas Overby; daughters; Freddie B. Meachum and Yvonne Brisson; a son; Oscar Lonnie Bowman.
Vadie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gearldean and Rudy Calvillo; sons; Lawrence Bowman and Jesse Bowman; sisters; Eula Phillips, Gladys Skyles, and Wanda Hawcroft; a brother; A.J. Overby; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Vadie Bowman will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend David Black officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Dalton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 9:00 pm on Friday.
