Mr. Albert

February 16, 2010 10-0578 Mr. Albert Lee AL Brinkley, age 72, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life on, February 15, 2010 at Hamilton Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 27,1937, in Ringgold, GA, a son of the late Robert Andrew and Daisy Louise Plott Brinkley, he was also pre deceased by his grandson, Josh Brinkley, a sister, Janie Holbrook, brothers, Jim Brinkley and Jerry Brinkley. He was a retired Colonel from the United States Air Force after 37 years of service to his country, he was also retired as the Manager of Williams Tobacco Shop in Cleveland, TN. Al was a member of Welcome Hills Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Marie Harrison Brinkley of his residence, Sons and daughters in law, Kelvin and Ginny Brinkley, Old Fort, TN, Kurt and Becky Brinkley, Cleveland, TN, Kenneth and Linda Brinkley, Tunnel Hill, GA, Step daughter Gail Harrison, Dalton, GA, step son and his wife, Mike and Kathy Harrison, Dalton, GA, sisters and brother in law, Louise and Melvin Cummings, Mary Cummings, brothers and sisters in law, Robert and Barbara Brinkley, Bill an Betty Brinkley, and David Brinkley, two Granddaughters and one Grandson. Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Albert Lee Brinkley will be held Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home, With Rev. Michael Deems and Rev. William Sims officiating. He will be laid to rest at Whitfield Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors by the Dalton American Legion Post 112. Pallbearers will be Dwight Brinkley, Dewayne Brinkley, Timmy Brinkley, Jeff Springfield, Randy Greenway and Ricky Greenway. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, February 17 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Ponders Funeral Home.
