Mr. Herbert H. Hot Towers

Mr. Herbert H. Hot Towers, age 82, of Kingston, Georgia, and formerly of Athens, Georgia, died Saturday, February 13, 2010 at his residence. He was born December 6, 1927, in Dayton, Tennessee, a son of the late H.D. and Charlotte Head Towers. He retired from GMAC, where he worked as District Rep. Hot was a member of the Barber Shop Quartets of America and proudly served in the United States Army Airborne. He was a member of Tuckston United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Jean Tomberlin Towers; his sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Towers and Genevieve Frazier of Kingston, Georgia, Steve and Cherry Towers of Olive Branch, Mississippi; daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Steve Kanner of Athens, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, William and Marge Towers of San Antonio, TX; sister Sue T. Walker of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren, Sam Towers, Ali Towers and Jeff Towers. Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Herbert H. Towers will be held Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tuckston United Methodist Church in Athens, Georgia, Dr. Sheila Bookout will officiate. Entombment follows at the Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Gary Towers, Steve Towers, Sam Towers, Jeff Towers, Tim Towers and Danny Walker. The family will receive friends at the Tuckston United Methodist Church in Athens, Georgia, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Tuckston United Methodist Church, 4175 Lexington Rd, Athens, GA, 30605-2521.
