Mr. Joseph Haney
Mr. Joseph Joe Haney, age 82 of Dalton, GA departed this life Monday morning, February 1, 2010 at Hamilton Medical Center. Joe was born on June 11, 1927 in Canton, GA. He enjoyed playing his guitar and making music.
Mr. Haney was preceded in death by his loving wife; Thelma Gravley Haney; his parents; a son; Eddie Haney.
Joe is survived by his daughter; Diane Haney of Dalton; sons; Grady Tommy Haney of Chatsworth, Joe Haney Jr. of Canton, GA; a step-daughter; a step-son; Larry Gravley of Washington D.C.; Margaret Silvers of Miami, FL; daughters-in-law; Annette Haney of Chatsworth and Debra Long of Dalton; grandchildren; Teresa Peeples, Willard Peeples, Curtis Betterton, and Kandi Coran; great- grandchildren; Corey Coran, Christian Coran, Alicia Betterton, Haley Betterton; several other grandchildren.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Joe Haney will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home, with the Reverend Danny Cochran officiating. Curtis Betterton, Charles Bennett, Randall Owens, Shane Sheppard, Merle Buster Reed, and Junior Powers will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 until 9:00 pm.
