Mr. Edward James "Jim" Doyle

Mr. Edward James Jim Doyle, III, age 81, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday afternoon, January 28, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born March 2, 1928 in Fort Riley, Kansas, a son of the late Edward James Doyle, II and Emily Bellis Doyle Alexander. He was also preceded in death by granddaughter, Olivia Doyle. Jim was a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and was a career salesman. He is survived by devoted wife, Brenda Doyle of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Sandra Doyle; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Kenneth Caldwell, Mary Ellen and Michael Kinsey, Susan and Don Pelfrey; grandchildren, Audrey Doyle, Jessica Doyle, Tina and Kevin Curtis, Casey and Christie Caldwell, Joy and LaDane Miles, Michael Kinsey, II, Stephanie and Jacob Cooley; great-grandchildren, Hunter Miles, Briaden Miles, Vance and Matthew Caldwell; step-children, Kim and Gary Ray Swinney and Brian Hall; step-grandchildren, Trey Swinney, Konner and Brooklyn Hall; brother and sister-in-law, Ret. General, David K. and Jan Doyle of Austin, TX; several nieces and nephews. Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Edward James Jim Doyle, III, will be held Sunday, January 31, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend Marty Greene and his good friend Jimmy Mathis officiating. The family will receive friends at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home after 3:00 p.m. Sunday until the service hour.
