Mr. Fred Doyle Wright
Mr. Fred Doyle Paw Paw Wright, age 74, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday evening, January 23, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Fred was born April 29, 1935 in Adairsville, Georgia, a son of the late Burton T. and Mable Franklin Wright. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Groves Sumner Wright, a daughter, Freida Deal, sisters, Ruthelle Samples and Estelle Shope, and brothers, J.B. and Roy Wright.
Fred was retired from Beaulieu of America, Inc., where he was a supervisor in the Weave Department. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines and was a member of the Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church and loved his church family very much. Fred was an avid outdoorsman and loved to deer hunt and fish. But most of all Fred loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a friend and a servant to anyone in need. We Love You, Paw Paw and will miss you very much.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Ray Peek of Dalton, GA, Rene S. and Lee Oliver all of Rocky Face, GA, Debbie S. West, Dewayne Bubba Deal both of Chatsworth, GA; twin brother, Hoyle Wright; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Knight, Beatrice and A.D. Bowman all of Calhoun, GA; grandchildren, Terry DeBoard, Brian DeBoard, Lissa DeBoard, Maegan DeBoard, Tina Dean, Mark West, Matt West, Josh Peek, Victoria Deal and Chris Deal; great-granchildren, Joshua DeBoard, Ashton DeBoard, Hannah DeBoard, Hilary Harrison, Halyn Harrison, Mac Dean, Alex West, Addy West, Gabi West, Anabelle West and Kyleigh Ray Peek; several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Fred Doyle Wright will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 2:00 oclock p.m. at the Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church with Reverend Ronald Guffey, Reverend Robert Beavers and Reverend Bob Monroe officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Whitfield Memorial Gardens with his grandsons, Brian DeBoard, Mark West, Matt West, Josh Peek, Chris Deal and his great-grandson, Ashton DeBoard serving as pallbearers.
The American Legion Post #112 will provide military graveside honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday.
