Mr. Gordon Eugene Howell
Mr. Gordon Eugene Howell, age 74, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday morning January 19, 2010 at his residence. Gordon was born February 2, 1935, in Whitfield County, a son of the late George Daniel and Bonnie Chester Howell. He was also preceded in death by his son George Dennis Howell, and a brother Frank Howell.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Donald and Jada Howell of Chatsworth, GA; daughter Teresa Galaviz of Dalton, GA; sisters and brother-in-law Hazel Long, Monteen and Coy Blevins of Dalton, GA; grandchildren Brandon Howell, Nathan Howell, Chanda Ashe, Briana Call, and Aaron Galaviz; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Gordon Eugene Howell will be held Friday January 22, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend Jacky Webb and Reverend Robert Long officiating. Interment will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens with Reyes Galaviz, Brandon Howell, Nathan Howell, William Long, Wayne Long, and Tim Ashe serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday.
