Mrs. Ola Mae Douglas

Mrs. Ola Mae Douglas, age 74, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Thursday morning, January 14, 2010 at the Murray Medical Center in Chatsworth, Georgia, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Douglas was born January 24, 1935 in Canton, Georgia, a daughter of the late George Caviness, Sr. and Viola Patterson Caviness Chumbley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Elbert Douglas, Jr. and a brother, Marvin Caviness and a sister, Shirley Reed. She is survived by her sons, Timothy Red Douglas, Michael Ray Douglas, James Danny Douglas all of Chatsworth, GA, and David Darrel Douglas of Resaca, GA; daughters, Patricia Lynn White of Marietta, GA, and Susan Diane Cline of Chatsworth, GA; sisters, Lois McCoy of Ballground, GA, Dolly Epperson of Ellijay, GA, Betty Caviness of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Johnny Caviness of Alabama, George Jay Bird Caviness, Jr. of Powder Springs, GA, and Sammy Chumbley of Woodstock, GA; thirty eight grandchildren, thirty five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Ola Mae Douglas will be Sunday, January 17, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Caviness officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Kennesaw City Cemetery with her sons and grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. Saturday.
