Mrs. Lula Boyd, age 79, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday morning, January 12, 2010, at her home. Mrs. Boyd was born March 12, 1930 in Rising Fawn, Georgia, a daughter of the late Perry and Lela Henderson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Wilburn Hubert Boyd, brothers, Eugene, James and J.D. Henderson; and sisters, Maggie Nesbit and Estelle Clark.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ricky L. and Tammy Boyd, Sr.; daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn Gail and Donnie Flanagan all of Dalton, GA; sisters, Edna Durham of Rossville, GA, Nellie Seay of Chicago, IL, Bessie May Henderson of Rossville, GA, Flora May Dalton of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Jody Flanagan, Scott Flanagan and Ricky Boyd, Jr.; great grandchildren, Katlyn Parish, Britney Parish and Joseph Flannigan; several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Lula Boyd will be held Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Chaplain Jim Herman officiating. She will be laid to rest at Little Prospect Memorial Burial Grounds with Jerome Burns, David Massingill, Scott Flanagan, Jody Flanagan and Donnie Flanagan serving as pallbearers.
