Doyle Herman Hightower

January 12, 2010 10-003fm After a short illness, Mr. Doyle Herman Hightower, born September 15, 1930, pass away on Saturday, January 9, 2010 a the home he shared with his grandson, Deke Hightower. Doyle was a member of the Fairmount First Baptist Church and an active member of the Mens Adult Sunday School Class. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he was awarded a Bronze Star. Doyle was a man who lived life to the fullest. He loved to make friends, adored children, enjoyed fishing and camping, and being a good neighbor was very important to him. He is survived by the love of his life for fifty seven years, Donna Jean Payne Hightower; son, Derek Hiram Hightower; brother, Glenn Hightower and wife, Marie; grandsons, Deke Herman Hightower, Heath Jackson Hightower, Grant Thomas Hightower; daughter-at-heart, Margie Wilson; aunts, Irene Gibbs, Geneva Taylor; cousin, Argle West; childhood friends, George and Genell Smith, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Baron Hightower; mother, Ileen Ballew Hightower and his father, Herman Hightower. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at 2:00 oclock p.m. at Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Rick Langston officiating. Military Graveside honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #112. Flowers may be sent to the Fairmount Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home.
