Mr. Darren Ray Martin, 45, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, went to be with the Lord, January 6, 2010 at Hamilton Medical Center. Darren was born April 27, 1964 in West Virginia, son of the late Ray and Cheryl Martin. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Grant and Marguerite Hanlon, Mack and Ida Martin.
He is survived by his wife Angie Taylor Martin of the residence; brother Kevin Martin of Spring City, TN; sister and brother-in-law Margie and Andy Folsom of Maine; mothers-in-law and fathers-in-law Gene and Louise Taylor of Gumberry, NC, Robert and Georgia Taylor of Seaboard, NC; brothers-in-law Edward Taylor of Gumberry, NC, Zachary Taylor of Raleigh, NC, Ron Pippen of Elizabeth City, NC; sister-in-law Wendy Gatewood and her husband Chris of Clayton, NC; nephews Blake and Brandon Folsom , Mark and Andrew Gatewood.
Services to celebrate the life of Darren will be held Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Harvest Baptist Church with Reverend Gary Evans officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Taylor Family Cemetery in Gumberry, North Carolina. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Ponders Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Harvest Baptist Church: 3986 Cleveland Hwy, Dalton, GA 30721.
