Shelby Jean Araujo, age 54 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday, January 4, 2010 at the Hamilton Medical Center. Shelby was born May 11,1955, in Whitfield County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Willie Earl and Mammie Lee Giles Singleton. Shelby was also preceded in death by her son Earl Lee Wooden and a great Nephew Dewayne Bennett II. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Wendy and Jim Sharp, Dalton Ga, Sisters, Brothers, and their spouses, Irma and Mike Fowler, Calhoun, GA, Larry Singleton, Kim Singleton, Beverly and Larry Emelander, Genna and Lamar Little and Michelle Womac, all of Dalton GA. 3 Grandchildren, Mendy Sharp, Payton Sharp and Jim Sharp Jr, 2 Great Grandchildren Kristopher Sharp and Destiny Sharp. Services to celebrate the life of Shelby Jean Araujo will be held Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend Darry Kittle officiating.. She will be Entombed at Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.
